Morpheus
Website Design / UI
The Product:
Morpheus is a sculptural furniture piece that challenges conventional ideas of sitting. The design explores the boundaries between art, functionality, and human interaction, questioning what defines a seat.

The Problem:
Traditional furniture dictates how people should sit, often ignoring the natural, instinctive ways people create seating opportunities in their environment. There is a gap between functional furniture and interactive, adaptive seating solutions that encourage exploration and engagement.

The Goal:
To design a piece that blurs the line between sculpture and furniture, encouraging adaptability in seating. Morpheus is both an artistic installation and a functional object, responding to the user's interaction while maintaining a strong visual identity.

Design Approach
-
Research on Sitting Behavior – Observing how people find unconventional ways to sit and examining what defines a seat
-
Experimental Prototyping – Creating foam and structural models to explore movement, adaptability, and aesthetics
-
Form & Function Balance – Developing a design that serves as both a sculptural piece and a functional seating object
-
Material Exploration – Constructing with layered wooden elements and a steel core for structural integrity
Tools & Materials
-
Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop & InDesign – For visual storytelling, concept presentation, and branding
-
Solidworks & Keyshot– For developing and refining design iterations
-
Foam & Cardboard Prototyping – For exploring form language and movement
-
